What the code is worth, and what Key-Drop never says
The code does one thing and does it every time: 20% more on the top-up you use it for, plus $1 the first time you ever use one. It is not a welcome bonus and it does not sit on your account waiting — it applies to the deposit in front of it, and only if you enter it first.
How to apply it
- Open the Deposit tab. The code field is in the payment window, not in account settings.
- Enter the code before choosing an amount and paying. Applied afterwards it does nothing, and there is no way to add it retroactively.
- Top up. Both parts land with the deposit itself — nothing is credited afterwards, and nothing has to be claimed.
- Do it again next time. The code is not remembered — a top-up without it carries no bonus at all.
One caveat on the number. Twenty per cent is the rate Key-Drop documents in its help centre, but the site advertises it as “up to”, the percentage is returned per code by the server, and past campaign codes have run higher. Treat 20% as the standard rather than a guarantee, and read what the deposit window shows before paying.
The $1 is fenced more tightly than the percentage: the operator calls it a limited offer that “does not apply to all accounts” and requires an active Steam account.

Yes, and this is the part most people get wrong. It is not a one-time welcome code — the bonus applies to every top-up you use it on. But it is not stored: you have to type it into the Deposit tab again before each one, and a top-up made without it carries no bonus.
Two usual causes. Either it went in after the top-up rather than before — there is no way to add it retroactively — or the code itself has expired, which Key-Drop rejects with a message saying so. Codes go stale independently of the account using them.
Not the bonus itself, since no wagering or expiry is attached to it. Your skins are a different matter: anything sitting untouched in the on-site inventory for 90 days is sold automatically, with the balance credited at the value the item showed when you got it. That clock starts per skin, not per login.
